Passive extension loudspeaker for the hd BS10
The hd BS10EXT (EXT for extension) is acoustically and visually identical to the hd BS10 — making it the ideal companion to the BS10. Deliberately built without electronics of its own, it leaves amplification, signal processing and control to the hd BS10: together, the two form a complete stereo system that is still powered from a single battery-driven box.
True stereo. One power source.
Via the hd BS10’s external speaker outputs, the BS10EXT runs in bi-amp mode: woofer and HF driver are driven on separate amplifier channels and crossed over actively and phase-optimised in the BS10’s 96 kHz FIR DSP. Each path remains individually controllable. The result is stereo sound reinforcement without a second mains socket, without additional batteries and without a second set of controls.
Acoustically identical — down to the last detail.
The same 10“/1“ system, the same bass-reflex enclosure, the same 90° x 60° coverage: left and right are tonally congruent. The result is a homogeneous, precisely localisable stereo image with no tonal differences between the channels — from the first row to the last.
No passive crossover. No compromises.
There is no passive crossover inside the BS10EXT — the crossover happens actively in the hd BS10’s DSP. A single 4-pole Speakon cable handles the connection: the NL4 connector on the bottom allows kink-free cable routing, and an NLT4 version is optionally available. Connect, select the stereo configuration on the BS10, play.
One system. One look.
The BS10EXT is externally identical in construction to the hd BS10 — same dimensions, same plywood enclosure, same steel grille. On stage and in the room, the stereo system looks like it was cast from a single mould: a harmonious, professional appearance.
Road-ready like the hd BS10.
A rugged plywood enclosure with black polyurethane coating, carrying handle, 35 mm pole mount and M8 inserts — at just 10 kg. The BS10’s carrying bag, rain cover and U-bracket fit here as well.
The hd BS10EXT extends the hd BS10 into a complete stereo system — acoustically congruent, visually seamless and still fully independent of the mains.
